Mark Devadason brings over three decades of international banking and leadership experience. He has a track record of building and nurturing highly networked global teams. His technical experience includes banking and finance as well as human rights and broad based sustainability work. Mark’s experiences include managing diversity and across cultures and adaptation to organisational change and pivoting roles.
Mark’s commercial banking experience includes diverse leadership roles in wholesale and consumer banking, human resources, corporate affairs and sustainability across the Asia Pacific region including postings in Sydney, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Japan. Mark has also taken many significant career pivots embracing his core strengths while being comfortable taking leadership roles in areas where he lacked technical expertise. In addition to Bank CEO roles in Japan and Thailand and five years as a Non-Executive Director of a subsidiary bank Board, Mark served as Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and has worked with various charitable and consulting organisations focusing on modern slavery and human rights causes.
Over the past 10 years Mark has been working with a diverse portfolio of companies in various board and consulting capacities. He is also Chair of a 30 year old international children’s foundation supporting destitute and vulnerable children in Asia Pacific. He speaks frequently on business and board-oriented sustainability and leadership themes to organisations like the AICD, DFAT, the NSW Bar Association, Bursa Malaysia, the Thailand Stock Exchange and with various universities in the region. Mark is a Director of Melbourne based mutual bank Bank First.
